I'll have to seriously think about acquiring the two Amtrak units also.

I am now leaning more towards the Amtrak as I have the amfleets already.  Do not expect a preorder from me though.  When it arrives I just might buy it.  I am tired of rescheduling screwing up my regular purchases.

I'll have to get at least one, but which is the conundrum! ;(  PC, NH, MN?
Glad to see it announced. Thanks.

Oh, as Richie wants LIRR, I'd like one too. Even though I don't have/want any C3 bi-levels.
 BUT, I'd really like a G5:)

Fortunately, when the pilot models are displayed in West Springfield next January, you'll still have time to get a reservation in before production starts.  8)

PBLWs are still scheduled for this year, so it's going to be a nice seven-month stretch for NH modelers.  :D

I am pre-ordering and I have absolutely no need for any of these! No "wait and see" attitude needed here!  I can't wait for these loco's.  Great announcement guys!

Wow, never expected to see these as RTR models... may have to pony up for one in NH (and so what if I model the pacific northwest & Canadian prairies? I'll find a way to run it)

Edit: just read the proper announcement, realised these will also come out in ConnDOT / NH - that will suit me just fine.

I also see the fine folks at Rapido have plenty of scope for a second batch of schemes (or for the kitbashers to have some fun):

I'll get in the group hug when CNJ GP40P's come out...   :scared:

But seriously, the FL9 model sounds fantastic.  I remember as a kid painting one of those C-liners into NH colors in fact....  Or wait, did they come in NH?  Thinking of HO actually...

The idea of a second era, probably Penn Central is getting more appealing.

No need for them, but I think a pair of those blue/yellow PC's are in my future..Just too cool to pass up,and I know I'd end up scratchbuilding them eventually..

I remember when those units started showing up - I was furious!  PC units should be black!  :)

The Amtrak units were mostly used on the Empire Service into Penn Station, correct?

Lou,I always wanted a set of those just because of that horrible paint job..From a modeling standpoint,a one off PC unit, just way too cool to pass up..

While the PC's probably didn't go far from the NEC, they are tempting! The Amtrak is the same boat ( 1979...too late for my time period!).  Guess I'll have to do my homework to see how far I can stretch the story...for the PC units!

Very cool loco! I have no dog in this hunt, but I thought I'd do my part to push this toward page 25.  :D

Even though I don't model anything near the NEC, I think this may be as close to the Midwest as they ever came: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=459332&nseq=21

I'll probably end up getting one just for the cool factor.

My grandfather went on what appears to be a FL9 pulled rail tour in 1971. Here are the pictures
