Yesterday I was scrolling through my news feed on Facebook when I came across a couple pictures of a consist of three KCS Southern Belles on a Norfolk Southern manifest freight headed towards Clemson. I found out I had enough time so I booked it up to the local station here in Clemson and wound up waiting around for over an hour for the train to finally show up (it had stopped in Belton (so I think Seneca, SC, as Belton is only shortlines) for some random reason), and when it did I didn't time my camera click on my phone right so I had a pretty blah picture, but with running it through Instagram I wound up with a decent photo, so here's KCS Southern Belle 4147 on point of Norfolk Southern freight 154 headed from Atlanta to Greenville through Clemson. CP eXpressway at dusk with a pair of SD40-2's instead of the usual toasters. Probably the latest non-time exposure shot I've taken:

Seems once again the SD40-2's are assigned to the odd piggybacker.

Nice shot, I'm surprised a multi-mark unit still survives...
Vincent

If N scale had good SD40-2s, C30-7s, U30Cs, SD45s, SD40s, and SW10s; I'd be in N scale.

Thanks Vincent.

There are a number of them still running around, but the scheme itself is getting incredibly rare. Retirements of SD40-2's and rebuilding of GP38-2's has really thinned the herd of remaining multies. I actually caught a pair of multimark SD40-2's on an eXpressway a few weeks ago but was unable to get a shot thanks to a single car traffic jam in front of me  :x
