I have a Walkera coaxial helicopter with a built in camera. The camera can take 3MPX video or still pics, depending on how you set it before takeoff. If you set the switch on the camera for stills, when you want to take a pic,you just flip the landing gear switch on/off,it takes a pic.On video, turn the switch on,it takes video until you flip it back off.
There are amazing quadrotors out now.You can buy ready to fly[RTF..] setups that have built in GPS.You fly it to where you want it,it will stay absolutely still in one spot in up to a 50MPH wind!! It will even land itself from where you took off,no skill needed.. These birds are in the $500.00 range, minus camera. You can go up from there,to six or more rotors, bigger batteries, bigger helis, even first person view systems,[FPV..] which have a video screen built into the radio,so you can see what the camera sees. You can even get setups with movable gimbles for the camera on the heli..There are starter FPV quads for $100.00..

I had my eye on the DJI Phantom 2 FPV quad recently, but have not pulled the trigger yet. It uses a smart phone for the FPV monitor through an app. Watch their official videos, very cool stuff. B&H Photo has it listed for $1299.00...

There's sure to be some problems as these gain popularity. To the general public/mainstream media, it's a "drone" and people are understandably nervous about that. Hysteria will ensue as soon as some moron is caught using one of these for illicit purposes. The idiots will always ruin it for everyone else. I've already seen quads following my train with the pilots parked and standing on the right of way. Don't be stupid.

The one Pedro links to, looks exactly like the one I saw on the recent Steam excursion in Oregon
