Roundhouse Hi Cube

Does anyone know if the Roundhouse 50' Hi Cube box car sides resemble anything in real life? I am looking for new kit bash ideas and have a few. I know they are not correct in the current incarnation but wonder if they would be accurate with new roof and ends.

I don't think so....  Isn't it a too tall version of a PCF car?

How about doing some gons?  For example make a replacement bulkhead end for the Roundhouse car.

That is on my to do list. I have a bunch of gondola ends but I have not found a match for the Thrall style sides and older ends.

Have you looked at the NW 52' gons?   Looks like a simple corrugated pattern from top to bottom.

Dan - another idea - bash those FVM canstock cars into the DODX 60 foot end door car...   I believe they are used to carry Trident boosters or something.

Although on checking the MDC FMC plug door car might be closer....  If you need any shells let me know....

These are the boxcars which are painted random colors to "blend in" and always travel with a DODX caboose.
