New FVM Milwaukee boxcar release

I received their latest MILW ribbed boxcars today, and they now have body mounted 1015s and metal wheels.  Very nice, and the wheels don't fall out of the trucks, which has been a common problem with the MT trucks they were using.

Are you talking about the 50' cars or the 40' cars?
The 50' cars I have match your description, they are great models.  I wonder whether future releases of the 40' cars might follow this construction, but this might require some changes in the form.
Anyway, both 40' cars from the initial runs and 50' cars match very well.  I replaced all MTL plastic wheels with FVM metal wheels, as it should be  ;)

You make it sound like the problem is with Micro-Trains. Sounds to me that FVM was using the wrong axle length in the MTL trucks.

Hmm... is this what's
known as a conspiracy
theory...?

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

Nope. MTL wheelsets in MTL trucks have a tendency to fall out lately.

The FVM wheelsets with the shortest axles are for MTL trucks anyway.

Christoph:  The 40 ft cars that were a surprise (at least to me) announcement a month or so back.

Mike:  About the only cars I've bought recently that had MT trucks were from FVM, and you're right, they were MT trucks and wheels.  It seems that when MT redesigned their wheels the last time the axles were shortened, because I tried the wheels in older sideframes and they fell out of them as well.  Old MT and Precision Masters wheels fit the FVM trucks perfectly.

On the other hand, the wheels in my MT 60 ft boxcar stay in fine, making me wonder if that truck also is a newer design.
