I saw this at the Intermodellbau fair in Dortmund a few weeks ago. It is really a clever system.

Not quite up1950s, the system can't cross tracks yet so (for now) we're safe from such displays.

If I couldn't inlay rails and flangeways , I could inlay brass strips the width of rail-heads , and cut flangeways next to them . Just how thin is the roadway surface anyway ?

Sounds like a lot of work for moving vehicles. The other thing is, on the same circuit, everything has to stop for the train no matter where they are on the road.
