I'm working on a way to deal with that  :D
Gozer the Traveler. He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor!

Great choice.  I'm in for at least 4, plus probably 4 more to use as cores for M&R sides.  As I said on one of the earlier threads, I think this is an excellent choice, and resembles lots of other roads baggage cars- in fact, I'd be hard pressed to suggest a more "standard" looking baggage car.   As far as "special requests", I would just ask that the doors be separate, so I can change them out to modernize or backdate, and that MT work on getting undecorated "kits" out there early on.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Look for a new truck to help this float down the tracks.

I hope it is type 242, which was preferred by a number of roads, especially so ACL and L&N.  Here's a shot of a car with them...

I request that the roof vents be tooled as separate detail parts on a fret in the box that are press-fitted into place, similar to the reefer roof hatches, flat car stakes, and the tank car hazard placards.

I'll second that request, there were a lot of roads in the east that used this type of vents on not only head-end cars but also on coaches.  It would be a great addition to what is offered in N-scale.

I definitely be looking at some for mail storage service.  Is there a possibility that they will be made with a choice of Clerestory or Arched roof???  This could expand the usability of the cars significantly.

Thomas!...
This WILL be a donor for many M&R sides projects!...and, quite frankly, it's not too far off for a standard 70' ATSF heavyweight...

I am positively delighted to learn that the eighty foot car of your original query was not set in stone.  This looks like a good choice for a generic appearing baggage car.

I will assume that these will appear in all of the road names issued in the other cars, so far.  For the New York Central, you might consider a Pittsburgh and Lake Erie.

.....oh and about those versions with Rapido couplers............................

It doesn't match any of the SP&S cars I can find pictures of, but then, few of the SP&S cars match each other.  I vote for a pair of these, one each in the old and new schemes.

Isn't it pretty darn close to this?

Just so you know that the MT baggage car will be over 10 feet short since SP&S 64 was rebuilt from Pullman car Sycamore, a Plan 2410F 12 - 1 sleeper.
