Yeah, if they're going to do another SD60 variant, make it the SD60I. It was about a 50/50 split between the M and the I on Conrail and those units did eventually make it into NS and CSX livery so you can have all 3 major modern eastern road names. Don't know if it went to later SD60 orders or not for other roads,

SD60I was Conrail only.

Here, here, I support the SD60M/I/E model idea....

However, as smart as NS is, I can't believe they did the GoRail unit without making the graphic  gorail.com...

The whole point is awareness of rail freight, so why not get people to go out and learn more?

I'd be happy if they'd just fix the blower duct.  SD60Is can be reasonably kitbashed using an SD80MAC cab on the M shell... the recessed fans are a pain though.

Sure:

Sorry, it's an old, tired joke now.  Anyway, I don't know why they insist on emphasizing the stone-age brow on these locos with such high-contrast paint schemes.  :-X

That's a pretty accurate caricature. They are definitely not always easy to look at.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Just wait, there is a rumor that the dash 8.5 project will use the Cresson Cab as well, although the first one dose not.
Your layouts nice, but it needs more Conrail !

It's not a rumor, it's true.

Everyone wants all this new SD60 variants, I would settle for a CSX YN3 SD60m since Atlas only did the CSX YN2 last century. No Boxcar scheme thanks.

 Whatever happened to the days when engineers could be artists, too? What would the great Raymond Loewy have thought looking at a devolved shape like that?

While I don't like the excessive brow overhang, it seems like a nod to older EMD Spartan cabs... it isn't my favorite but they are on the rails, therefore I desire to model them.

I don't think they're that bad. I think WE think they're bad because they look odd compared to what we're used to.

Wide nosed cabs always look odd, eyebrows or no.

Weren't all the old (and elegant looking) E, F, and lots of other similar locos all wide cabs too?
