Very relaxing weekend running trains down in Beatrice!  My highlight from the show is finally acquiring a Super Chief at an incredible price.

Mark, that's what I call a beautiful train. Nothing like a well done warbonnet streamlined Super.
I am glad you're enjoying it!
But I hesitate to say, you need another B unit; they ran them in ABBA sets, or even ABB sets part of the way (and later in all kinds of combinations but always with at least two B's). Santa Fe had no boilers in the A units, only B's, see the little stack on the B, and two boilers were required to handle the train...
Just when you thought you got a great deal..😬

While I didn't know that about always running at least two Bs, I've been collecting F7's for a few years now to make this super lashup!  But, for now, only three units have decoder installed.  I plan to install LokSound in the remaining 4.  :D

Small update.  It's been a year since I last worked on the bridge, but I've been passively brainstorming the whole time on how to model the half K-rail and railings along the bridge.  I figured I'd use etched railings, which would be quite pricey.   I also tried a few methods to get the half K-rail profile in the strip styrene, but nothing came as easily or as cleanly as I hoped.

Then it hit me last night, I have an awesome 3D printer!   Duh!

So, a few dozen more of these and the bridge will be ready for paint!   And no more need for etched railings.  Though more fragile, the 3d printed railings are exactly to scale!

Awesome!
It's been a year since I've said it, but I really love this scene.

Me too.  It reminds me a lot of the Northwestern Pacific's wye crossing under 101 in Ignacio.

We'll be taking the layout down to Lawrence, KS this weekend, so time for the final pre-show work.  I have new guard rails glued to both bridges, with a light primer coat on one of them.

Those tiny gaps are rain gutters!

These printed extremely well, and were incredibly easy to glue straight!

And in curves!

Wow, the railings look great, nice added touch with the scuppers for rain, lets hope you never have to put them to the test.  :D

This is the best highway bridge that I've seen modeled in a long time.  Great job on getting the details and the proportions correct.  Most modelers don't even come close.

Excellent!  Is each barrier/railing section printed as one piece?

I think this picture shows how they were printed.

Yes.  And each railing has a mount plate and bolt heads that printed quite well!  Ill get a close up once I get the next primer coat on.

Don't forget the blak expansion joint material between each section!     :D
