Got a surprise in the mail today – one of Prototype N Scale's custom run Atlas Pennsy PS-1 boxcars.  Looks good with the 8-foot door.  I disassembled it, grabbed one of my painted test-shot X58 floors and proceeded to the milling machine.  I milled off the cast-in coupler box on the Atlas floor, and milled away the floor areas around the extended X58 draft gear boxes.  I then drilled new holes in the Atlas floor and attached the X58 coupler boxes with #00-90 screws and nuts.  I also swapped out the Barber S-2 trucks for ASF A-3 trucks.

Still have to lower the end tack boards, but that would take more time that I had today.

Hey Bryan! So those mods...why did you do them?
Are the Barber S-2 trucks not correct for the car? Who makes the ASF A-3? BLMA?

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

The X48 had a cushioned underframe and ran on A-3 trucks.  Yes, BLMA's friction-bearing truck is an ASF A-3.

If you could get the paint info, I'd really appreciate it Tim. They're such an easy to overlook prototype.

From Jeff:

"Unfortunately I don't know what paint I used for them even, I seem to remember signal yellow with some red and brown added."
