#2000, a K class Pacific sits at Packerton PA sometime in the 1940's. The huge Wooten firebox was common with Northeast anthracite roads...


Many of the beasts were rebuilt like 2-8-2 #331. The cab was relocated resulting in somewhat cramped accommodations for the crew...

Reminds me of one of the finest scratchbuilt steamers I've ever seen: Chris's camelback 4-4-0.

 ;)  Erie had a 0-8-8-0 camelback where the cab was later moved to the back. Afterwards it was pretty fugly.

All of those buildings in Packerton were torn don about 10 years ago... sigh
