Since the bridge clearance on the under side is pretty slim, I'll be doing the scenery below before planting the bridge and laying the track.
Today I mixed up the sanded grout and went to town.  I started out just under the bridge, but then I figured I might as well do the whole module while I'm at it.

Mike, that IS sweet! Very little that gives it away as an N scale model! Amazing.... I would probably hit the wheel faces with a bit of color..... Does it come with grabs or did you make those out of wire? Nice workmanship, too.
Randy, nice down low shot. The iPad has a corner mounted lens that does a nice job on these types of pics also.
Well, back to the trainroom, gotta finish the last piece of benchwork today....

Randy, looks like you are "track side". NICE shot.
Jason, Otto... thank you. The "grabs" are part of the kit. I made a "jig" that allows me to install all the grabs to the car sides, at the proper spacing away from the sides AND affix them with AC. Yes, I plan to address the wheel faces when I weather the car.... I'll snap another pic...

I usually don't show anything on weekend update -- but for once I have something to share .. The Maryland and Ohio RR is a DCC loconet enabled layout . I have 4 SE8Cs I am putting in place, and slowly building signals from scratch or modifying stuff I've been able to find ..

The dispatchers panel is making progress .. I've set up ABS signalling on about 1/3 of the layout now .. click on the pix for more detail .. the two top track diagrams are the lower level -- the bottom two are the upper level .. two basically different railroads .. bottom, mostly double track .. upper, single with passing sidings

I pulled out the chop saw and cut the shapes for the Cisco bridge foundations, and also began shaping the concrete erosion protection shapes from pink foam.  The best source for pictures is the Mainline Modeller article, but the photos have been seemingly randomly reversed, so I've had some spatial issues.     Still waiting on a sheet of etches to finish the approach bridge structures, and working up my courage to send in the walkways-railings artwork for etching.

After 8 years of dealing with the layout problems I finally talked the guys into rebuilding. Hope to have the main lines on the new layout running by mid march.

What color grout is that?  Did you do any painting underneath?

It's called "Mocha", it will dry much lighter than the photos, which were taken when it was still wet. 

Yes, just a base coat of gray latex.
