I love the effect of the falling snow, and the accumulated snow on the log bunkers.  The rest is superlative, of course.

It really makes me wish I could have seen the prototype.  Funny thing is, as a kid in the 60's, I rode in the car over Paulson Summit between Trail and Christina Lake several times, and I never knew about that part of the line...  :facepalm:

Yep.  Photoshop Elements...I don't like using editors on photos.  I wonder that once you start simulating things to make photos look better when do you stop?  But falling snow for a Christmas card for some reason seemed like a reasonable compromise.  I googled "PSE snow effects" and 20 minuets later I had snow layers with adjustable "speed" and direction.  Easy.

Welcome Dave (seeing that this is your first post).  The added smoke looks good, but since the loco just came out of the tunnel, the smoke should be also billowing out of the tunnel.  :)

Kiz: I agree that the thought is what counts, and I have been enjoying all the season's greetings photos in this thread. I also thought that we could freely provide constructive criticism on this forum (rather than just the obligatory atta-boys).  :|

I do like Dave's photo (the composition and the overall quality), but the smoke, as it is, just jumped right out at me for looking unusual.

I hope that I didn't hurt anybody's feeling and if I did - I'm sorry. 
Merry Christmas everybody. Even if I will now find lumps of coal in my stockings, I'll be happy with them; I'll give them to my friend, who runs live-steam models.  :)
