Did anybody ever come up with dates for the BN...like how long did they last?   I'm pretty sure my research came up empty for late 90's but I can't seem to find it.    So, was just curious if anyone knows "fo' sure".

I'm assuming they were in similar service to the Airslides?  I will have a huge flour mill so even as a rarity I'd probably buy one if they were still on the rails at all.

I never recall seeing these in the 90's at least up here on Conrail,  but around 1999 or so, there was one parked
on a team track in New Market, NJ where usually you would see boxcars unloading bricks.

I couldn't believe what I was looking at, having never seen the three bay version.  I am almost sure it was in
GACX gray paint.

Dry-Flo cars could be unloaded via gravity, screw conveyors, pressure or vaccuum.

The Dry-Flo is described to be used for materials too course to permit fluidization (I would assume to mean air-flow unloading).

And to a previous question, the ad for these cars list malt, brewers grits, fertilizers, feeds, plastics, chemicals, carbon black, rice and salt.

Of course that's just a partial list.

Dry-Flo was GATCs patented and trademarked system, used for commodities to coarse to be used in an Airslide, but still required the sealed carbody to prevent moisture and particulate contamination.

Can't wait for the the real CGW car.

Which child did BN get these from?  GN, NP or CB&Q?  I think it was GN...

And what's the date for the C&NW car?  Or better yet, will we see an actual CGW release eventually?

Should be '77,  it's straight out of the Color Guide I think.

I believe the standard answer to the second part is that we'll see all the schemes eventually.  Hoping EXR does their 4427 in CGW too as they've done it in HO already.

EXR is behind on its private/lease schemes too.  I'd hit the Cargill and Dreyfus releases pretty hard, and get a few of the TLDX Slot-Top cars.  Plus, a full set of NP cars will find a home with me.

Can't read the number of the BN car real clearly, but if it is 457827 and if it is correct for this car, the car belongs to series 475800-475999 which came from CB&Q

I have photos of the former CB&Q cars in BN paint ranging from 1975 to 1987.  They were built in 1960... they would have been scarce by the late 90s.  An ORER lookup may be in order.
