CP SD40-2F and five SD40-2's roll through a winter wonderland with a south bound freight on CN's Bala Sub:

A burgundy CEFX SD90MAC trails a CP SD40-2 on the eXpressway:

An SD40-2F, SD60, SD40-2 trio on CP's MacTier Sub. Older units are getting a new lease on life as CP finds itself power short, including some of the few remaining unrebuilt SOO SD60's being reactivated:

Spent a few days in Bern, Switzerland.  The scenery is pretty great, even if there is not much in the way of photo weather in November.

I was thinking the same thing.   Only units I haven't seen on CSX this year is some KCS.  Hoping I might catch one before the year is done.

Now I get why the spacer cars are usually old NS (N&W) or BNSF (AT&SF) cars on those oil tanker trains that I see on the Northeast Corridor in Newark, Delaware en route to Delaware City, Delaware.  The unit trains must be handled by NS and BNSF, and, of course, they don't bother to swap out the spacer cars.

No pix because cameras aren't allowed in my workplace, but the NS OCS rolled by northbound on the ex-RDG Lurgan Line about 10:45. It should be in Harrisburg by now.

Yup. Most of the time the BNSF covered hoppers are stenciled as "Do not load" too.
