Is the streetcar track planned to be operational or cosmetic?

Cosmetic.

Does the lower RH track (in the overhead shot) go inside that building or stub at the wall?

The track at the lower right will eventually extend further on a plate girder bridge, which will pass over the corner of the building there. Hard to tell from the photo, I know.

Nothing to show for me this week.  Spent the weekend on a self guided layout tour that is pinned at the top of page.  Got some flex track at LHS finally back in stock, and an entire box of trees/lichen/etc for $5.  It's about the size of a Pepsi Cube

Just some more studs this weekend. I am hoping to finish the last wall tomorrow so that I can finish up the electrical and get the drywall hung in the next few weeks.  This is going a little slower than I want as I have weather competing projects going on such as replacing the exterior door with a double exterior door so that I can get the motorcycle and speeder in the basement for the winter, as well as get the pellet stove installed so that there is sufficient heat in the basement.

For those who haven't seen them before, a few pictures of my unfinished layout.  Some are new, and some have been posted before.  The line itself is a secondary main from Silver City (Helena) to Kalispell (Columbia Falls/Whitefish), Montana, over Stemple Pass.  The NP actually considered going that way from Helena to Missoula, and the line could be built with no major difficulties.  I altered the geology a little to put a group of taller mountains between Stemple and Rogers passes, with a rich mining district under them.

Very nice Jeff. I sure hope that you are planning on finishing the walls and ceiling too.  There are too many very nice layouts out there sitting in unfinished basements.  Looking at the overall labor involved in building a layout, it doesn't take all that much extra work to finish the space around the layout, yet it adds a whole another dimension to the overall appearance.

Finally finished three of the four Geeps I am doing. All three have stock Atlas paint with winterization hatches added. Two had their stock numbers changed. All have had painting done to the handrails and sills to more closely resemble the prototype units. The 1729 got Bicentennial stripes  added and the other two received the Minuteman on the short hood. Finally after doing all this they all received weathering chalks and dull coating.

Built a new crew cabin for mail & express train service.  I started with a bicentennial scheme N5, stripped it, new smoke jack in correct location, wire grab irons, paint & decals/weathering, and Z scale couplers.  I used the Mount Vernon Shops decals.

Mass production F7 detailing started today....
Decaling to replicate the car body openings before adding the FARR grills from Plano...much better to do all these as a group.
The F3's will get the treatment next weekend; their car body openings are a little bit different, so I'll have to create new decal film templates.

I really like this one with the worn out white stripe!

And, is it me or are the hood side numbers from Microscale too big?...We need better options for this simple scheme IMHO
