I got my advanced notification for the EM-1's and appear to be available at MBK:

http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/N-Scale-s/3.htm

Again no affiliation/agenda, just reporting these are hitting the shelves. I'll be picking up my order tomorrow and per usual will report back with pics/details and boiler scale width

HOLY SH!T!!!! I have absolutely no use for one as i dont model the "less liked" eastern US(Just a joke) but maybe, just MAYBE other mfgs will pull their heads out of their asses and see how you bring a model to market. We just heard about these what, not even 2 months ago? I have to give it to Bachmann on a job well done. I literally almost ordered one just because they months, not years to get to market.

Now lets see the pictures of one close up and on someones layout!!!

Oh Oh.  I sense another layout about to be tossed onto the pile, replaced by the B&O Lake Division.   :D :D :D

A great story on this line in Classic Trains a few issues back.  Very tempting subject for a model railroad.

I suspect the N track layout at the B&O museum at Christmas time will be lousy with these things!  So, who's buying wagon top boxes by the case now?

Couldnt pick it up today, the shop was closed due to religious holiday (Yom Kippur). Guess I'll have to wait till next week to get you kids some pictures. Hopefully someone else chimes in this week.

Probably, I have a spare digitrax SDN144 and there is already an EM-1 sound file available for it. I really want to try a new Loksound Select but they have been on BO forever from the distributor.

If these are a hit, maybe Bachmann could do an N&W A 2-6-6-4.  I'm not an N&W or B&O fan, but that would be pretty cool after seeing the 1218 in the early 1990's.

:) As far as I know, this is the first time for this to be done in n-scale and somewhat unique that a B&O version is being offered.
(I saw this with deference to those more in to detail than I am.)
I have modeled B&O for 30+ years, and with previous mallets, opted to paint over the N&W or other lettering on the tender and add my own B&O lettering.
These were the 2-8-8-2 versions from various makers.
