Found this on the bay today. I don't model Pennsy, but I figured I'd put it out here for the other  :ashat:

Very tempting, but it's worth noting that it's in the pre-war configuration with step pilot, original locations for headlight and steam generator, and 30's-40's letter spacing.  If you're modeling the PRR in the 50s, this is not the version for you.

Unless you're Madeline modeling an alternate history where beautification never occurred.  :D

I'm tempted too, except I already have one.

Edit: Dang you, autocorrect!

I've been watching this one to see what it goes for. I was even tempted to bid on it because the price seemed "low".

There is another MUCH more expensive one coming up...

as well as another K4...

Notice the solid "spoked" drivers?

There was also a Baldwin "centipede" that sold for almost $400 (I think). It's like a smorgasbord for Pennsy fans.

Way beyond my budget. I was, however, able to snatch up a Trix I1 for $44.

What's with the blind drivers on these models.  I have several Key brass items from similar time frame and one of them have blind drivers.  Does the prototype have them?  I wouldn't think so but I'm not Pennsy guy so I wouldn't know for sure.

Another example of ditching the brass M1's since the Precision Craft Models M1's will be coming any day now...  :?

Got one, don't need another just yet.  Mine does not have any blind drivers.  Also got it much cheaper at a hobby shop a few years back.  Considering they had another with  a different number, I shoud kick myself in the butt for not getting it also.

Interesting that the one you bought doesn't have any blind drivers. Was it used, or at least pre-owned?
I'm fairly certain that all of them came from the factory with the sets of blind drivers so there is a possibility that someone put the flanged drivers on after the fact.

I'm sorry, and no disrespect to any involved, but to set the record straight, Jerry has been/is the PRR man. He was making a very painful joke for SPF's, kinda like when SPF's recall when a certain manufacture/representative said the Pennsy was a fifth tier railroad.

I know the whole BLI story, that's the joke! Also I love Jerry, but he moved to that other scale, so Pope Vollmer has taken over for N Scale, or at least TRW.  :D

QFT.

I'm only an acolyte when it comes to Jerry's Pennsy papacy.

I understood the sarcasm with respect to PCM, LOL.
