Mine have not arrived in the mail yet.  I can discuss contents once they're in my possession.

Mine is broken.   Maybe I need a new one.

I always seem to break things.  Maybe I have a problem

Best regards,

Roger

OOPS.  Just after I hit the button I realized that's Walthers Allied, not Vulcan.  I guess  I'll need to buy a Vulcan and smash that, too  :D

Given the construction of that style of barn, I'd say the tornado brushed it on it's rush to the near-by trailer park!!

I wonder too if this version comes with the crane.....the only part I actually want...

Anyone know for sure?

No crane. They sell one separately (just the crane, no tracks), but it doesn't fit in the crane shed that comes with the Vulcan kit. Go figure. I believe a crane is included in the HO version of the kit.

WYSIWYG:

What I don't understand is how I missed their Union Crane and Shovel. When did they introduce this kit? It's totally escaped me, and it's a classic.

The kits were waiting for me when I got home.  They do contain the crane shed, but no crane.

While there are several top-notch manufacturers doing locos and cars in N scale, Walthers has no peers when it comes to American industrial and urban structures.  Therefore while I don't get riled up when Walthers ignores N scale in trains, I get very excited when they throw us a structure or two.

Ditto! I don't know why they are so quiet about it though!

thanks all......Good to know that this kit does come with the crane "shed"......which is what I need, not the actual crane.....

FYI...There is another option available from Traincat, which is very nice, although a little pricey, which is designed for the Walthers crane....

Thanks for the info guys. I also like the look of the Union Crane and Shovel, but part of that is because my father was the parts manager for Unit Crane and Shovel. They closed down 25+ years ago, but the original factory remains as  Unit Drop Forge. A cool collection of buildings, where I used to spend my time watching trains on the C&NW.  http://goo.gl/maps/Rgf6Y

Best wishes, Dave

It was announced in the July 2013 flyer.

Ok Chris, how did you take this photo?  Either you can fly like a bird, or you are using a remote control drone.  :D
