Yeah, in theory the Atlas/Roco (this was part of the original Atlas "A1G" lineup) is based on the two bay, but it is way too big (too high for one).

Sirenwerks:  I agree.  The GN's came in at least four paint and lettering variations, so Atlas could get GN modelers interested in four runs of these.  And since cars in GN paint lasted into the 80s, according to photos, many others probably received BN paint before being retired, so there's at least one more for the Northwest.  I could use all five.

Still working on them...sorry for the delay, but we had to finish up a number of other projects and it was all hands on deck.  I will check to see what the release schedule is this week.  I want them just as much as you do...even if they aren't SP prototypes...   :D

I'm trying to confirm but from initial research it looks like these cars were used for BN's three-bay "six-chuter" ballast car conversions, too.   If that's the case that might be a fun project.

News from the Breakfast...

1. From Charlie Vlk - Hornsby North America is reintroducing the Arnold line to the US; first release is the GE U25C.  It will be all new state-of-the-art tooling; 5 pole motor with flywheel, axle point pick-up, and road specific details.
2. From Bluford - Next project is injection molded plastic cornfields.
3. From MicroTrains - officially announced the SW1500.  Two new Z-scale reefers due in September.  Next Heavyweight, PRR D78B diner, is due early 2014.
4. Peter Harris (N-Scale Kits) and Bryan Bussey are planning a a joint project this fall; more details later. (Note this project is a result of the two of them sitting at adjoining tables all weekend...)

Most of the rest was reiteration of stuff already announced...

KATO and Atlas were not at the breakfast...

I asked the KATO rep about the freight car sets yesterday, and his comment was that until they are officially announced they are just "rumors"...

Of the off-road hoppers I saw on the pokey growing up - the ones I saw the most (occasionally) were Clinchfield and L&N.

The HO Trainman model looks like an ACF prototype.  The PS-3 has 17 panels.
