So did the train hit the truck at a crossing or derail onto it? Looks like the former, but the article didn't say. Edit, DKS's article link says the train 'smacked' in  the truck.

Hit the truck, causing the derailment.

Update: Dozens injured, several seriously, as lawyers stampede to accident scene to sign up victims for class action suit.

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Jury is still out on whether the train hit the truck or vice-versa. One (reputable) news outlet indicated it was more likely the truck hit the train.

However, all news outlets indicate there was only one person injured, the truck driver, who is in critical but stable condition. So there's no stampede of lawyers chasing ambulances.

That is a VERY blind crossing, but at the same time it probably isn't the first time he's been there so he should know to stop and look.

Kind of ironic the MSP trailer in the lot.
Can't model worth a darn, but can research like an SOB.

Odd charge for failing to secure the roll-on/roll-off feature. It looked fine to me until he got hit by a train! Its not like it was dropped on the tracks.  Best wishes for the driver (even though it looks to be his fault) and the train crew that was likely traumatized by this incident.

Best wishes, Dave

He was cited for doing this in the past.  Read that he is a retired Baltimor firefigter and if the case he should have more common sense.

Completely missed that part. See how easy it is to miss something!

I took a look at the accident site in Google Maps, and the street-view image of the crossing shows the stop sign pretty much obscured by vegetation. Not an excuse for not stopping for a blind crossing, just an observation.

I'd love to know what that sign says below the crossbuck.

Is it me or was he ejected from the cab at the moment of impact?

Stop. Look. Listen. Seems like such a simple concept
