@LIRR those trees look great. I have been toying around with idea of using static grass for a future batch of trees. I am afraid the texture of the static grass will be too much for n scale when mixed in with other trees made from supertrees.

you're right, this method may not work as well for n-scale. On my previous N-scale layout, I made these conifers from furnace filters....

I really like your trees, and your ballast, and your buildings, and your grass.

Generally, I just really like your layout.

A little more progress this week. I am calling the wooded lot done for now, may come back later and tweak it. I also finally laminated the track chart on the front of the layout. The next project is to finish up the non-rail served business.

that looks great for an East Texas forest Marshall - although perhaps a little more underbrush would make it even better.

Yep- you hit the look of the trees in the area pretty good. I also like how you have the sharp line between the mowed grass by the warehouse and the overgrown grass near the trees. What lengths of static grass did you use?

On coldriver's suggestion, you could add some more underbrush, but a lot of the 'brush in the area are undersized trash trees, like chinese tallow trees. One thing you could a$$ would be some kind of disused power pole with a guy wire to the ground that has vines growing up it. In the 80's there were disused code lines along many of the rail lines around Houston covered in mustang grape or other vines.

@coldriver and @squirrelhunter: I agree more underbush is needed, however that will be a project for a later date. I do have an idea that would be easier on a future project.

I have been making more progress on the layout. With this non-rail served industry being substantially complete leaves me with one more warehouse to do. I still need vehicles for the parking lots which I do not have any, so I guess I need to go shopping.  :D
