Jaw dropping Jason ...

Oh, doubleheaded 9000's; jaw dropped, tongue hanging out, slobber all over iPad.
Jason, one of my all time favorite photos is a pair of "nines" coming around a curve from up above....I'll send you a copy if I can find it.
Now back to reality, got to wire that staging yard...
Best, Otto

Thanks Richie and Otto,

Of course I cant talk all the credit, Otto was one of the first ti build a 4-12-2 then there was Rodney Edington who had one running, Adam Draskovich had many of the ideas for the boiler using a Concor S3 and Loren Perry did the perfect 4-12-2 rods.

This is a case of sucess has many fathers, failure is an orphan.

Thanks Aga

I'm liking the Pennsy theme this week. :D

That is a great looking bridge, it really looks like Sherman's Creek.

I just planted a concrete retaining wall that I made to match the tunnel portal on the west/right side of the layout.  Still have to scultamold it in, then get in the base scenery.  Maybe after tomorrow's orchestra concert.

Today, the Vermissa Valley jumped into the future a couple of decades, when Joey Uboats' son brought over a few units to stretch their legs.  Something for the Conrail Queens:

I also forgot to mention that I saw the PC Heritage unit yesterday!

Here's a photo from the PCRRHS Facebook page.

No, I said "Ed's Law."

Another week, another boring diesel...

So much steam running around these days, someone needs to speak up for us modern guys...  :D

Finished this BNSF GP38-2, complete with working front and rear ditch lights.

Some progress on 4 Centipedes. They will feature new drives with 2 faulhabers each, DCC and in 2 of the 4 loco's sound.

It will be busy before we go to Milwaukee as the Centipedes should be finished by that time. And there is something else we have to bring along. Hopefully we're not running out of time. ;)

That's a great photo of the Horseshoe!!  I am thankful for the university libraries and endowed organizations that preserve historical information like this for us.  I am also thankful that Richie does this research to educate us about what's available....

In anticipation of receiving my back-ordered Atlas track, I installed the backdrop for the Flag Center module of the C&I Sub.  (No pix; maybe put some up on the Layout Engineering thread later.) Then I re-installed the temporary track so I can continue to run trains until I a.) get the track; and b.) get around to installing it.  This summer is going to be really busy ... with family events and travel.....
Regards,
Paul

Brian - Nice job on those 38-2s!  Whose ditch light castings did you use?

At least two of them (the tuscan versions) should be in Milwaukee. BTW I made a small mistake, each engine will have one big faulhaber with lots of power. The sound decoders have also already been programmed. I really love that Baldwin sound!

I've completed a few more cars with the etched coupler pockets and Z-scale Bowser couplers.  I'm also going to order up some more of these parts, which I would like to make available to anyone interested in trying them out.  More details in the pocket thread here:

Ed

Wow! I didn't even know bowser made Z scale couplers, but they look great, and those coupler pockets look impressive! They might need a little weathering.  8)

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.
