Brian - Nice job on those 38-2s!  Whose ditch light castings did you use?

Thanks Jim.  While they aren't 100% accurate, they fill the gap for now.  Got them from Streamlined Backshop as they come prewired and painted.  He uses Miniatures by Eric castings.

Wow! This is unbelievable! I can't get over how good they look. Another loco I wish I could have, but then, you can't have everything.

Some progress on 4 Centipedes. They will feature new drives with 2 faulhabers each, DCC and in 2 of the 4 loco's sound.

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

Not a major development, but I bridged the gap and installed lighting between the helix and the rest of the layout

The top shelf is the upper deck lighting canopy,   the middle shelf forms the upper deck proper (with lower deck lighting mounted on its underside)  and the lower shelf is the lower deck..which  as a bonus holds a nice strip lighting unit over my workbench.

Whoa, that helix bridge looks like a major item to me. Impressive work!

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Decaling these nearly drove me nuts. I did 2 sets of them and nearly lost my mind. But alas, we are lucky ther are DB4 containers and not other ones that have like 25 decals on each side  :scared: :scared: :scared: :scared:

Finally have all major parts for the roundhouse joined together. Both strips of roofing that are still unpainted are removable, as is the second from the left rear wall which is the camera port. Lots of trim and touch up work (damage that happened during construction) left to do. Robert

Having a little fun on two weeks of leave after nose surgery - ready BREAK!

First: FEC 410 and 411 awaiting some more work and some paint, includes M4D long hood on 411 and the radiator conversion kit on 410.  Still need to convince someone to do decals BUT nobody seems to respond to emails - don't mind the two GP9s - Atlas Bay Colony engines:

Second: Three FEC Snoots - probably 717, 715 and 720 -

Third: FCEN GP7u with a M4D cab -

Fourth: A quick renumber - still gotta do the number boards -

Fifth: CSX B-boat

Sixth: USSC 405

lastly - some love from big brad

Gotta keep up appearances...

We got MG, AR, and the silent giant ALTO. I may pick up HARRIS some day just to have the set. I'd love to see ZOO...talk about cool big towers!

Great stuff this week! This BNSF unit really caught my eye. Perfect paint and decal job! :o

Another week, another boring diesel...

So much steam running around these days, someone needs to speak up for us modern guys...  :D

Finished this BNSF GP38-2, complete with working front and rear ditch lights.
