Have started abusing this one day to be CN SD40 (again). First started about 15 years ago but got really, really, really sidetracked. I removed the DB and then it sat. I've removed molded the fans in preparation for BLMA fans, and am currently mulling over how to shave down one of the fan housings in a uniform fashion to simulate a low profile one. CN's fleet of 1966 line and their -2 successors seemed to have liberally mixed regular and low profile fans housings. Also carved out the mount for the nose headlight, and the bell is just there for effect. I 'plan' on doing 7-8 of these...

Welcome to Ontario... we've got a tax for that.

Did some more work on the L1s...

You can barely notice the grab irons on the tender footstep beam.

Also did some touchup on MG Tower. Still a little cleanup to do.

Here's my 48' MAC all aluminum flatbed trailer in fresh paint.  Still needs mudflaps and DOT striping.

I also have a Kenworth T800 design in progress.

Unfortunately no time for any modelling this week :( .  Two more shots of recent "in-progress" modelling however one of which was from last week's operating session.  I hope to have this bridge done within next 3 weeks...progress is at a crawl...

Westbound caboose hop.

Eastbound pushers.

Have a great weekend!

Thanks! Are you having all the Pennsy Towers on your layout, Frank?

Christ almighty you are busy!
I love the look, the arched deck really nails it. I don't know if you are a whiz at cleaning the FUD, or if you have been lucky. Maybe Shapeways has upgraded their production process.

Any chance of a GM RTS bus? I need several.

Oh, a 53' refer trailer would be nice.

Maybe an early Michigan wheel loader?

Once that Kenworth is knocked out, I'm gonna have to find a way to hide a couple hundred in Shapeway's costs.  Gonna need a handful of those trailers and at least a couple of those T800s.  A T700 for that ultra-modern look would be awesome.  Or for a real modeling challenge -- an International Lonestar.

currently mulling over how to shave down one of the fan housings in a uniform fashion to simulate a low profile one.

Take a piece of styrene or scrap plastic the thickness of what you want the height to be.  Drill a hole in it the same size or slightly larger than the fan housing.  Trim it down so it fits in where it has to.  Silp it over.  File until flush....    or something like that.

Still not quite happy with the mortar lines. May have to scribe some in.

I'm horrible at judging my own weathering. What do the  :ashat:'s think?
