Real nice Lenny.

This one is from the National Park in Lowell, Mass. last Sunday:

An old shot I was reminded of, and linked to, in another thread... SLH, NS, NS, white CP. Not typical of the Belleville Sub back then or nowadays:

Forgive the poorness of the image, its an old scan.

I know this isn't a very good photo but from reading the post on PV I wanted to share an old hangout from the PRR/PC days.  Pennroad Tower which survived into Conrail and tore down in the very late Conrail era.  NS still goes through here but the tracks to the left are now gone as they go from the old PRR/CV onto ex Reading tracks to reach Harrisburg

While driving home from vac, I came across these rust buckets in Chadborne, NC

943
GM
GP18
1800
Originally built as Norfolk Western #943, ex-Waccamaw Coast Line #943, high, short hood, in faded WCL purple paint, in regular freight service

87
GM
SW9
1200
Originally built as the Chesapeake & Ohio #5092 in 1953, to Baltimore & Annapolis #87, still painted and lettered for B&A and stored in Chadbourn

The Caroline Southern apparently stopped running in 2011 due to out of service bridges on the line.

Bob.

Didn't there used to be a PRR I1 (2-10-0) behind that store, or at the least in the vicinity? I remember there being one (or a steamer at the least) in the Hamburg area, but that was some time ago and the memory is cobwebby.

That's a pretty funny quote, though.  :P

Oooof, that's the problem with using facebook as picture links... inevitably something else sneaks in. I do like almonds though.

Ouch, I didn't know they quit running  I will say their infrastructure is seriously decayed; I was helping my grandma move to Lake Waccamaw, NC, and we passed through some of the towns the Carolina Southern runs through, and the rails looked completely abandoned; of course, it was 2012
