The new NTrak Steam Locomotive Addendum book is here!

On behalf of Craig Barrow, Jim Fitzgerald, and Jim Kline of NTrak, I am pleased to
announce:

The new NTrak Steam Locomotive Addendum 2012 book is now available.  I received my copy yesterday and it's the
nicest one they have done yet.  It is also the largest to date.  There were so many good articles that they had
to go to a new style of binding because of the book thickness.

There are many members of this very forum whose work appears in it, and just like the 2006 "Book" and all the Addenda that
came after that, it is always well worth the purchase price.  For those of you who are not familiar with these,
the Steam Locomotive Book and the Addenda are the N Scale "Bible" for steam locomotive building, repairing
and kitbashing.  There are also many fine locomotive reviews.

This volume contains works by:
Tony Hines, Andrew Hegstad, Fred McDowell, George Solimine, Richie Dost, Mark Schwendeman, Craig Barrow,
Hans and Marc Starmans, Doug Nelson, Jason Smith, Randy Gustafson, Victor Miranda, John LeMerise, and myself.

It features reviews and excellent articles on engine scratchbuilds and kitbashes, specialized tools, repairs,
and N Scale history.  It also includes a full index to ALL of the steam loco books and addenda, so now you
can use the index to find out which other volumes may contain pieces of interest to you.

It's almost 90 pages of N Scale steam locomotive fun!
You won't be sorry.  BUY THIS BOOK!

But is it really a shameless plug?   I think for this to be a plug you would have to be getting a percentage of the profits from the sales.  Is that true?

You have a point, Peteski.  No, nobody who writes for them gets one cent out of it.   The editors, and all other NTrak staff who work on these books get no compensation from it either.  NTrak is completely non-profit.   Let me make that very clear.
We all do it just for the love of the hobby.

I ordered mine and the 2012 edition too. Hadn't noticed that it was out too. Hope it doesn't take to long. Last time I ordered updates it took weeks to get them.

I ordered mine in the early AM on April 10th, it mailed postmarked April 12th (Friday) form TX and arrived Monday, the 15th in the Cincinnati area.  Looks like a good issue. I see 3 or 4 handy tidbits already.

Sorry I thought I had run an update on this. I got both my books in a week, came well packaged. I am greedily going over them now. After a first quick look, I really like the revues of the new engines. the 2012 book as less interest for me then the 2013. But that's because it has more western engines and I'm a Pennsy :) guy.

Highly recommended.

If you don't have the earlier editions you should check them out. PRR is well covered in K4s, B6 and E6 articles.

And techniques can be used on most any road's engines.  Skills are skills. ;)
