Anybody know where I can get REALLY thin striping tape?

 I'm trying to scratchbuild a few shells.I used to use model car striping tape to do body lines,but I can't seem to find it anymore.I need stuff thin enough to do something like the panel lines on something like an F7..Anybody know anywhere I can get it? Pactra makes tape,but it's way too wide.Looking for tape this thin,this is an FT casting I did 30 years ago..

Lou, might I suggest  Archer HO or O scale weld lines? It would seem to be perfect for your needs.

If you want the tape, try an art supply store.
It's probably labelled as "graphic chart tape".
Comes at least down to 1/32";a couple $ for several hundred inches.
I'm pretty sure I used to get it in 1/64" too.

Kiasutha is correct - the brand name of the graphic chart tape that I am familiar with is Chartpak, and it comes in widths down to 1/64", or 2.5 N Scale inches.  My local hobby shop has always had a decent supply of the stuff.

You can also make your own. Take two new X-acto blades and clamp them tightly together (I use a small nut and bolt, locked together with some CA). Lay a strip of tape on a piece of glass. Run the two blades down the tape using a steel straightedge. This will create a very slender piece of tape.

Daniel,the Archer Weld lines are,well,welds,LOL!! I'm probably gonna end up using Archer rivets on top of what I'm making from the tape.

Thanks guys!! I'll hafta hit an art supply store tomorrow..If not,David,I was kicking around an idea like that if I couldn't find tape..I actually have a really nice tape I use for powder coat masking,it's a hard,green plastic,fairly thick,and cuts easily...

I've used the graphics tape as tie-down bands, and it seems to be what you want.  The only problem is that it eventually comes loose, at least on wood and paper surfaces.  Elmer's glue under the load solves that, but you may need to use a suitable glue on yours as well.

That's not a problem.After the master is done,I'm gonna prime it,and make a mold..

I used a company in MA....can't remember the name right now. ...I'll need to look. .. but they have all sorts of colors down to 1/64".

I got mine off the bay - there are several vendors. 

They had several colors and widths - I ordered white @ 1/32"

I couldn't find anything on ebay..I was looking for model car striping tape and striping tape,though..
