I think it's because they are in coal train cycles ...

Confirm, at least based on limited personal experience. I have spotted NS heritage on but two trains, and both were coal drags. One train had two of 'em.

Oh... excuse me... thread drift alarm is going off. Resetting...

Atlas 90th anniversary. Maybe get Wisconsin Southern to do something?

That's better.

Why should everyone else have all the fun of going off thread?
I saw the NS New York Central unit on an auto parts train in Dayton while walking back from a bar to my hotel.....wasn't quite "prepared" to document it.

How about you guys tool a new H12-44, and paint it for your 50th anniversary in 1974?  :)

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Seriously guys? Have you seen how clean Transit keeps their fleet?  :o You wouldn't be able to see our logo after two months...

We'll form a loco cleaning posse for you!   This is my best idea since the MOW Kitbasher Series!  :scared:

This is a mind blowing idea, celebrating previous anniversaries in the present.  This is up there with time travel!  :)

You guys can have want you want next year.

This is the 20 year anniversary of the GP30 and it's time to retool it with separate handrails and correct roof fans.

I got this idea from my wife...sometimes I forget important things like how many years we have been married. I tell her that I know that date, and I can do the math.

Best wishes, Dave

They were working with Amtrak on a special locomotive but Walther's stepped in and bought all the licensing rights.  #AmtkPhIVfailboat

At least the PC, Wabash & N&W units have made it into the Croxton/Oak Island/Port Reading area.

Add the PRR and CofG units to this list.

LV Lou:  I've seen four of the NS Heritage units in Prichard, WV, which isn't bad, since my total viewing time is about 15 minutes a day five days a week, while driving along the tracks on US 52.  Two were on coal trains and two on stack trains.

Another sure fire place to see them is the Roanoke Railcam, but I'm not including that in my pitiful sighting record.

I need to listen to the scanner more here, but since NS improved the sidings on the Lehigh a few years ago, things move very quickly through here (no more  "ALSE, you're waiting at Patenburg for SEVEN westbounds" of Conrail days...
