Very cool.  I'm impressed how little has actually changed in the Maryland segment of that ride (aside from the tracks themselves).  At about 10:00 in the clip, the line is about half a mile - and thirty years - from my previous home.

That was an interesting video. There were couple of scenes showing railroad cars on a bridge.  This is the first time I've heard of the underground power conduit. Sort of like hidden 3rd rail in the center of the tracks.

The video seems to be speeded up a little (check how fast the warning yellow traffic lights are blinking).  That explains the daredevil drivers.

The railcars on the bridge are still there - that's the Rhode Island Avenue underpass to the Union Station yard throat, which also holds a CSX double track main and the approach to the Metro car yard downtown.

I actually bought one of those Ertl O scale Capital Transit PCC trolleys several years ago and planned to power it with available kits, because the D.C. line has always been fascinating to me.  Thanks for the video, Bob!  How cool to see it as it existed in something more than just pictures in a book.
