You should probably give it Pepsi reporting marks of some kind because billboard advertising on reefers was outlawed.
Yeah , but after repainting re-lettering is needed . If URTX are forbidden to billboard , then I guess the OEM foobie might as well be used . Though a foobie , it is as logical as can be . Or did Pepsi really use that , but on some other rolling stock ?
I highly doubt it but I haven't done any research on this. I suspect that PCEX was invented by someone at Micro Trains. I'm amazed how much research is going into a foob.
As far as the 1973 logo, I remember seeing that a lot in the mid 1980's.
Some digging seems to suggest that billboard lettering wasn't outlawed on cars owned by a particular company and used for the company's products, but only for common carrier cars.
The logo is correct, just the font (in that particular example) used for the word "PEPSI" is wrong. That logo stuck around for quite along time (AFAIK, til 1987). It even returned recently, since they released the "Pepsi throwback" line. It uses the proper font.
Here's the one I had in mind. Seems to be a mid-80's to 1991 thing, completely omitted from the timeline posted earlier: The "1973" logo on the timeline appears to have the colors of the '73, and the lettering of the late-80's version. Weird. I only waste money on Pepsi product when forced to. Which essentially means when eating at pretty much any of the better fast food outlets.
Hmmm... but that is not a real Pepsi can - it is some sort of knickknack (possibly a radio?). Could that logo be a foob? I really didn't think that this type of PEPSI font was used in the 80s.
While we are attempting to get back on topic, has anybody made roll-up door beverage trailers in N?
