Total foob (but very nice picture).    This is one of the very few collectible foob series I actually picked up from MT.  One of the items in the Pepsi series is close to being real: The Pepsi Cola trailer.  That one supposedly is based on a real trailer.

I bought one on the eBay , yet to be delivered . What really annoys me is the blue . May try to repaint it yel or orange , but leave the billboard in tact and add black lettering . Least it won't stand out so much .

The photo probably is based on a vintage poster or advertisement, but the scheme is fantasy.

But I also see an error in that logo compilation (not related to your era).  The font in the 1973 logo is wrong (way too modern). The 1973 logo would have used a font which was similar to the one used on the 1962 logo.  I know it makes not difference in this case, but I just felt the need to point that out.

Once I repaint it the lettering will be gone . I will reletter it with whatever black decals I have , maybe do it as a URT or something with that Pepsi billboard . Not pulling the billboard off with blue tape is the only risk . How strong is MTL's multi colored artwork on their cars ?

I never put masking tape over that type of graphics but it should be similar to everything else they Tampo-print on the cars.  It is a white rectangle with CYMK layers over it.  I suspect that the blue masking tape will work fine.

On the newer cars with graffiti they use some sort of CYMK ink jet printer (and that ink  can run from a wet coat of Dullcote) but these older Pepsi cars AFAIK, were done with Tampo method.

Thanks , I will fog clear coat a few times and then only mask the black outline with a pre glossed paper filler to cover the field . That ought to help .
