Noice!

Any info on what camera/lenses used and how they set up the shots?

Waiting for the Christmas light joke in 3.....2....1....

Great shots everyone and thanks for sharing it with us non-InstaTweetFaceSpace users!

Best wishes, Dave

David, the Canon "L" series 24-105 is my favorite lens.  Great choice.  When Bryan sent me that photo of yours I was blown away.  Using the sun flare added so much to the shot.  Funny how we try to avoid flares when shooting 1:1 scale objects but with models we welcome them.  Excellent work.

Thank you, Scott. The more I use that lens, the more I like it. As for the flare, I can kind of understand the psychology behind how it adds realism. Indeed we try to avoid flare, but on occasion we have no choice. Seeing it in a model shot, though, is rare, so it helps imbue the image with a sense of being in that moment when we need to get a proto photo under much-less-than-ideal conditions.

Happy to say that I have multiples of each model presented, and have each of the road numbers displayed in Mike and Ed's entries. Props to Ed for the 'night shoot', and using the Holidaysburg theme as an excuse to avoid weathering  :D

Dammit! You figured me out... I realized I hadn't weathered the cars yet (they're in the queue) but I wanted to shoot something. So, I figured combining the fresh X58s on their way out, and the weathered G26 on its way in (for conversion to a panel track car) made sense.

My equipment was, well, rather ghetto... I used my trusty Canon A520 from way back when, an exposed CFL and a flashlight for the highlight lighting. It was almost comical, because I was using the 2s delay on the camera, and in those seconds I had to keep moving the flashlight to get the right angle. I'm really happy with the way it turned out though. My goal was really to show off the awesomeness of the draft gear.

Regardless of the equipment/technique used, the final effect is great. I really like the image.
