The whole point of posting the pics here is for the people who aren't on Facebook to see them.  It is not a commentary on the merits or lack thereof of Facebook and other social media.  From a marketing standpoint, ESM must have a presence there and the contest was a method of driving traffic to the site and attracting attention to the company.

I started this. My comment about Facebook was meant as a thank you for posting the photos here. I have no problem with ESM (or any company) being on Facebook.  I do know some people who live on Facebook and those people do have a problem.    I'll edit my original comment to better reflect what I meant to say.

All display the typical quality work one expects from the posters, though I'd give the edge to Mike's entry (totally biased towards the road displayed).

Happy to say that I have multiples of each model presented, and have each of the road numbers displayed in Mike and Ed's entries. Props to Ed for the 'night shoot', and using the Holidaysburg theme as an excuse to avoid weathering 

Picking one as the best is impossible though... kinda like answering the age old question, "What was the best Bacon you ever ate?". In case you don't know, the only possible answer is "Yes".

(I'm going to need more ESM cars, although I need to make my layout look better, so they don't look out of place.)

I used a Nikon D5100 mounted on a tripod...  I THINK I used f25 on a 3.5 second exposure but I don't recall.  Lighting was a clamp-on shop light with a CFL.

Mine was photographed in natural sunlight on my "Somewhere In New Jersey" diorama. I deliberately positioned it between the sun and my camera to create the flares. Before moving the diorama outside, I took a series of shots indoors with a pocket camera to study composition. The final image was taken using a handheld Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-105mm macro lens at f/22, 1/100th sec., ISO 400. It's pretty much straight from the camera--no 'shopping other than to crop to the required size.

Mine was done with the crappy 5.0 mp Nikon (circa 2000) and indoor light, ergo the yellow tinge..... I bow to the masters.
