But seriously, several months ago I stumbled across an article over at Trainlife that covered the preparations for a Schnable movement on the ATSF in Texas. It was a large refinery component (fractioning tower, maybe? can't recall for sure) that up to that time was one of the largest items to ever be moved by rail. A year's worth of prep work had to be done, including "lowering" the mainline everywhere an overpass crossed, and the wholesale relocation of power lines and poles. All this along a few hundred miles of right-of-way, and just for a single shipment.  Can't help but wonder what the movement ultimately ended up costing the shipper.
