Is that a stock locomotive? Never seen the "visor" over the front windows like that or the door centered on the nose.

with all the non-likeable items this still a classey looking engine. wonder if kato will do it in n-scale, sure would sure be nice.

Not stock... it's a SD60E, the NS class for heavily rebuilt SD60s.  Cab is an NS design, as is the split-cooling system.

A good tire iron for starters... though I don't think you can make it any uglier 

Honestly... the Atlas SD60M cab that has the four side window config would probably be the best basis.

Note the 36" fan over the inertial intake (part of the split-cooling mod)... it's an older GP fan on the 6920

I'd say use an Atlas 3 window cab, as the side profile is more correct than the 2 window version.

Who knows, maybe one of the friendly shapeway guys can design one that will mate to an Atlas SD60M.

I like the paint scheme, but the cab looks like it's wearing a hard hat...

I actually Like the cab, it reminds me of a peak cap ....... the kind you see on parade grounds.

So is the brow over the windshield there for mechanical purposes or is it just (really bad) styling?
