Yeah yeah...I've been doing it for years and I am fully aware of the potential dangers. However, I'm not spraying enough solvent into the air to make a combustible mixture. It's not like I'm layering an 1/8" layer of paint on my tracks...just very light passes...and the motor is in the can about ten feet of 3" hose away. If it blows...it'll do it in the can.
Yes good advice, but what happend to me is that all of the airborne solvents eventually dried the motor bearings out and ruined the shop vac's motor! I was spraying polyurethane in a makeshift booth with the 6' vac hose shoved into the booth.
Shame on me for never oiling them regularly, but they are kinda difficult to get to...
Just anoter potential outcome, but it sounds as if you've done it for a long time.
