TLT lists a lumber door version for two of the CP schemes on their website.

Well their website still also lists one of the BCOL cars as a CPR model and lists all of them for a MSRP of $44.99, so I would not put too much stock in what is advertised until we see pictures.  The sheet sent to hobby shops illustrates HO Scale test shots with and without lumber door.  Unfortunately the information release has been full of errors and conflicting information, much to the frustration of dealers.  Hopefully they can sort it all out.

The 'As delivered', 'Spans The World', and 'Stepped Lettering' would all have been around in the 1950's.

The "Spans the world lettering" was only applied for a short time period though. So they would definitely be evident in the 1950s, but at no time was that scheme ever in a majority.

The Script scheme is too new for 1950s.

Incidentally, just recently, I looked at the CPR box cars (52431 total) which were 66% of the total CPR revenue freight car fleet in the same (January 1953) ORER and the distribution was as follows:

36' Fowler (Dominion) cars           31%
40' Minibox (8'-7" IH)                   17%
40' 1937 AAR (10'-0" IH)              18%
40' 1944 AAR (10'-6" IH)              25%
Miscellaneous                                9%
(Automobile and Horse cars are NOT included and it is interesting to note that, in January 1953, the CPR had NO 50' box cars)

It would be a rarity in my neck of the woods, which is why I'll be picking up just one.  While the original scheme and stacked herald scheme are probably more practical, the "Spans the World" scheme is temping.  I do want the lumber-door version though, for added uniqueness, so my acquisition will depend upon the final choices of what schemes are offered on what body variations.

It's all academic at this point, since the cars are slated to debut in early 2013 I believe.

I haven't seen anyone talk about it so I dug down for this thread.

The N scale Mini-box's finally got a price a little while back but there still isn't a production set due to 'low orders'.  The shops I buy from don't have this car available for pre-order so I can't help the cause.

I seriously doubt we'll see this car, but it would be nice.  Get your orders in if you're interested.

I actually preordered 2 of these from one of the online dealers months ago. As Tim mentioned this release has had conflicting information over the months and I am not holding my breath for an actual release. Would love to see them. I intend to use them at the head end of log trains as a "company car".

Well that's part of why I posted.  There's no more conflict, just not enough orders.  Here's the E-Mail I got back from TLT.

Hi Jason,
  The "N" scale mini box car has a MSRP, correct but no schedule.   If we get enough demand then we can do it, but our market isn't that big for N scalers.  So if you want to see them, the stores need to order them!

I don't buy any train magazines, have these even been advertised outside of the website?  I'd only be getting a couple, and they aren't a top priority car for me, but they would be nice for their variety.

I reached out to MBK to see if it will be carrying TLT products.  It carried the paper box initially, but I don't know how that went in terms of sales to guess if it will carry more product.  Modeling the north country, the mini box is a must have.

I'd so much rather they pushed the slab side forward, and that they do the NSC exterior post newsprint boxcar that has been secretly, tentatively announced in N.
