Six retired MLW's trail the road power on CN 305 back in 2008. Headed to Chicago and doom:

Here are some pics of the Southern 630's visit to Atlanta on the 2nd of June running Employee Specials from Spring Stree in Downtown Atlanta to Forest Park and back. Then on Monday they ran it to Greenville on the first day of the ferry trip to Spencer.

Blue Angels landing and Martin Airport (MD National Guard facility) in Middle River, Md after practice today over the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.

While innocently driving to lunch, minding my own business,  these planes surprised me prior to landing by cruising upside down, over my head, in formation, at what most normal people would consider dangerously low altitude.  Needless to say, i was surprised.   :scared:

My first instinct was... oh my, there is plane upside down near an airport, this is bad.

However, once i figured out what was going on, my next instinct was... COOL!  8)

Ran across this guy wandering the rails in Anchorage after a couple of beers.

The southbound Fairbanks to Anchorage passenger train passing through the Anchorage yard.

The passenger train parked at the Anchorage depot with the daily gravel train passing by.

Gary and I are off to Seward on the bus this afternoon to ride the passenger train back to Anchorage. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can share some decent photos.

Best wishes, Dave

You guys are at the other end of the line from me, I'm up in the Fairbanks area for work.

Was trying to get some pics of a US Air Force GP40, until I had the cops called on me...

here is a shot I got of it the last time I was here

Nice shots of the CSX MOW equipment!

Some more from my Cresson, Pennsylvania trip last month.

A compact little local:

Trying to be "artistic" looking though/under a train toward Cresson engine house:

A neat shot (I think) of two workmen taking a break and looking at NS SD40 3180 at the Cresson scrap yard (click for a little larger version). What does the "AGS" stand for under the number 3180 on the locomotive?

If Knot's Berry Farm had not pulling out at the last minute #3 would have been there too

Andy:
Thanks for the photos - can you elaborate on #630 - where she had been  etc. I assume she is going to
Spencer and home? Are any of the green (ie #722) 2-8-0's in service?

As an aside, I grew up along the Southern Atlanta-Washington main line, Cornelia,Toccoa, Easley,Converse and Kannapolis.
Too poor to afford a camera or film so no photos.

BTW I believe you meant Broad River instead of Toccoa river. The Toccoa river headwaters are located
about 40 miles NW(Union county) of the Wells Viaduct and it flows NW toward Tenn. where it joins/becomes the Ocoee river.

The Amtrak/North Carolina Piedmont.  Twice Daily between Raleigh and Charlotte.

and a couple of goodies found while visiting Spencer.

I've got some more, but I'm still sorting.
