I wish they would of done this on the proper car

Monon actually had a box car with the road number 1 on it. It was built by Pullman Standard for Monon from their PS-1 line. I believe this was a car done by Bev Bel for Lifelike a long time back. I once inquired MicroTrains about doing this car since they do runs of this road from time to time. They got the car and pretty much all the pad printing for it. Just need to change the road number to a 1! ( -:

Wow, they could have at least done that on a 40' car instead of a 50' Evans/USRE car.

Well, given that Life-Like didn't have a PS-1 model of their own, they used the closest model they had.  Aside from the diehards, most people are not as particular concerning whether or not there is/was a prototype for a model.  And tooling has to be amortized.  Life-Like never released a prototypical scheme on the N scale Evans car, just as RivaRossi never did on their 40' chemical tankcar and AHM never did on their 3500pd Flexi Flo covered hopper.
