Forgive PCM ? I don't konw, I hae along memory and hold a grude. It still wouldn't stop me from buying the M1's if they ever come out. But I drwa the line at making new reservations. I had three on pre-order way back when. Who knows, I may just get some in the mail out of the clear blue

Yeah, well...  It just means we need to do real model railroading, not opening a box and having a choo choo fall out.

Brass can also be remotored and set up for DCC.

I'm no fan of BLI after that whole PCM M1 garbage.  But it did encourage me to roll my own PRR steam, and in the end I'm a better modeler because of it.

I actually agree with you on the real modeling part.  If the M1/M1a were ever released, I'd get them, but I'm not betting on it. So I've laid in a supply of Bachmann heavy and light mountains for M1's.  Also Kato Mikes (L1's and I1's), Trix K4's, 0-6-0's (B6's) and Decapods (shells) and Bachmann 2-8-0's (H9/10) for future conversion projects.  I've also acquired a few GHQ L1 kits.  Thank goodness for Ebay!  My workbench overfloweth!

I'm also working CAD skills and reading all I can about RP and casting.

I'm going down this path also acquiring locos and shells for future kitbashes, but haven't acquired the 4-8-2 heavy mountain or GHQ kits yet (keep getting outbid by someone ).  I don't have the skills or the time yet for CAD, RP or castings.

If I'm successful I'll have extras.  But don't look for them sooner than 5 years from now. I'm not very speedy and I have a long way to go. Most likely, someone will beat me to it. lol

At the rate I'm moving, 5 years would work.  I have many projects lined up ahead of these.  I should pick up the N-Trak steam loco guide for more info.  I know Max Magliaro and Dave Vollmer to name a couple of guys have done a good job on their bashes based on photos I have seen.

By all means, yes, get the N-Trak Steam book and it's addendums. They're great reading and chock full of handy information and ideas.
