Well the NEM boxes haven't changed from the original rapido's in that there is still a copper spring that provides pressure and the coupler itself has no other internal forces working on it. From the looks of it, if the actual shank of the coupler is anything like Dapol's MT clone (yes, the brits have begun to capitalize on MT patent expiration http://www.dapol.co.uk/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=832&category_id=59&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=59) except with the two "wiskers" on the side rather than the NEM type shank, i think there shouldn't be too much of a problem but there may be a need for a replacement box to fit into the stock's existing clip holes for the original NEM coupling box so as to better hold the coupling on and in place.-Cody F.
We also don't know for certain if AZT coupler will use pivoting knuckle or split-shank design.
If you're referring to NZT there, it's split-shank.
I'm bringing this topic back to the surface to get some air! It's July 2014, has anyone heard an update on these couplers?
No update afaik, but every time this thread gets bumped there will be a lot of folks getting very worked up! Ed
Hopefully in bulk packs (does anyone really buy couplers 2 at a time) and at a price point that is less than what I've paid for most of my cars.
+1 for bulk packs.Wish BLMA would get on the horn about doing bulk packs for their trucks.
