Southern New Jersey N Scalers Sign In!!!

Wheres the top of "Southern NJ" I'm in Monmouth county and am looking for a club.

Marty, you are in that grey central NJ area and based on your location, I suspect you would fail the southern NJ qualifying questions: Flyers/Devils; Eagles/Giants or Jets.
David K. Smith would probably know of any existing clubs/posses in that area.
We here in the true "south" are still scratching to find some other kindred spirits.

I don't know of any N-scale clubs in NJ really. There's the modular club down here, but every time I've reached out to them, I've been met with silence. As for "South Jersey", I don't hold allegiances, I just ask if they get Philly stations on TV. If they do, it's SJ. If you get NY stations as well, it's a gray area. Of course, the easy answer as we all know is whether you are north or south of I-195,

N scale clubs here in NJ are:
New Jersey Southern (N-Trak) [for those in the state of South Jersey]
Central New Jersey N-Trak
If your in the state of North Jersey and you not one for much travel to get to one of the two, there is Brooklyn N-Trak.

(coincidentally all three clubs do combined layouts at Greenberg shows in Edison and Somerset, NJ)

((Personally my allegiance is to NJS since we meet no more than 35min from Sattler's Hobby Shop (which is a 15min walk from my house if ever i've a need for something) for one of two meeting places, and only 10-15min for our primary meeting place. Business meetings are held in my grandmother's former ceramic studio attached to the house.))

I was gonna stay away from anything as contrivertial as Sports teams, but the only team I hate more than the Eagles, is the Cowboys. So no, I'm not a true southerner, but if I could find a place to run my trains, I'd pretend I didn't mind Eagles fans

I'm thinking about the Central NJ n trak, but I don't think they run trains very often. I will look again, next Greenberg show.

As more people than just myself will say, NJS is  a club oriented around setting up and running trains rather than any serious structure or hierarchy, and i know from experience. Dues are only $12 per year and that covers gas for trailer hauling and any club necessities (lodging, module repairs, etc.), there are no real "requirements" to join and it is no longer required that you make a module but of course it is encouraged if your looking to do one.

But enough of my making plug-ins and propaganda. Your decision is your own and hope to see you around at the next Greenberg show.

I had a thought last night on this. Free-Mo is becoming somewhat popular in the NJ Division of the NMRA. I've asked a couple of those guys and they do not know of any Free-MoN group around here. Would any one be interested in at least exploring the possibility of doing something in SJ, perhaps with the NJ Div Free-Mo guys?

its a shame that the list appears so thin. Looks like there may be a need for some propaganda to be spread around to get more SJ and CJ (possibly some N-J) folks to sign on to our internet mischief.
