A message from your Leader
« on: April 16, 2012, 09:37:43 PM »

Dear Prospective Citizens of The Railwire:

When you register, make sure you include a detailed reason for joining.  The Russians and Chinese will typically use a spam bot to generate a bogus reason, like "want to meet new people and talk".  I deny all of these.  After you submit your registration, prepare for a most amazing time here on this forum.

The Railwire...it's a cookbook for modeling adventure! :tommann:

-Your Leader, Dr. T.A. O'Weathering.

But what if my reason for joining is "Because I said so. DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!?!?!?!?"

How about something like "I seek a meeting with your EARTH LEADER!"

Just a yearly reminder to anyone who may jump the gun and sign up:  I had to reject a few people recently due to ambiguous reasons for joining.  Please put something in there so I know that we're dealing with a human. :D :tommann:

Also, don't put reasons like "fun"  "learn things" ..    comments like .. model railroader, nscale,  i like trains, will get you approved faster.

How about "I like turtles"?

That would surely work!

Josh Surkosky

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."
