Weekend Update 2/5/12

Started working on some structures. A modified Middlesex Mfg. Co. into an L shape, and Custom Model Railroads new Hampden Row Houses. I need to pick up an additional set of the row houses to finish off the street.






I also finished up all the track feeders tonight and hooked them up to the track buss. Now to just get the two control panels going so I can get the TVD switch machines hooked up.

I also downloaded "Lightning Bug" on my phone that has 12 city scenes with ambient sounds and an additional 9 loops that you can customize to your liking. I'm going to pipe it though 3 sets of HP mini speakers on the layout

I have been asked to submit some photo's for a potential article that a mate is doing so I took camera in hand and shot, shot, shot.....and, as those of you who have done this before know all to well; most of what you shoot ends up in the recycle folder... a few make it to the almost but not quite stage and a very few might, just might ( and in my case, the term "just" is critical) make it onto the old four colour press....that said, shooting some stuff just for fun was just that, fun.... here's some of the blooper reel..........

I started working on a pair of B&M milk cars. Haven't done anything to the second car (ATSF) yet, but it's good for comparison. (If anyone has extra HO 50ft roofwalks I'm in the market for some)

Vestibules at both ends was a rarity amongst postwar streamlined cars.

I was partially inspired by Joe Marchinchin's photo in the current Conrail Quarterly (p. 6, CR 7720, parts donor at CSXT shops in Huntington.)

Scrounged around the junk box to put this mess together...  An organ donor for the Laurel Valley's fleet of GP-20's.  Or maybe I'll sell it.  I dunno.  It was fun to build, though.  Might add a few details, like a bent windshield washer or something fun like that.

RI also had some interesting 76 seat coaches that were converted form articulated sets like say, “Chisholm Trail”.  Please feel free to make two of those and then name your price.

RIP poor UP , and nice job Lee . Would be nice id there was an etched hood section we could marry together with the plastic model so we would have a scale thickness edge for these unique and interesting models . A GP-9 long hood would be cool .
