It was Christmas and I wanted to make sure you had something to be upset about  :D  UP masks are already made so no capacity issue.  B&O masks are being made now. :facepalm: back at ya.

Found the Z scale version...





Granted, the N scale 50' plug door body is welded instead of riveted and doesn't have the characteristic PRR straight side-sill, but I may bite.

Bob, I'm pretty sure that's an X53...  X54 was the only other true PRR plug-door class I know of, and they were only 40'.  It's hard to tell the length from your photo, but given the number of roof panels and the fact they had room to spell "Cushioned Car" between the keystone and the door leads me to believe it's a 50 footer, hence an X53.

The Pullman paint masks work on the coach body? 

I'm worried someone is now going to tell me the coach is the same length as the Pullmans.  And then I'm going to cry. :scared:

nope, different length, just those masks were made earlier so we could keep up with the UP past releases.

Ok, good.  MTL actively chose to release more foobie schemes ahead of B&O but at least the car length is correct.

Are you saying that even if someone fronted the money for a special run of B&O coaches you couldn't get them produced any faster?  Cause I'd fund that special run.

Regardless of what Pullman plan number was chosen, I suspect MTL knows its market fairly well and has decided that fewer people want B&O than other liveries....so B&O moves down the list....

Which market is that?  The one that doesn't buy trainloads of scale test cars or the failed cutsey building series one?  ;)

Say what you will, I'll be willing to bet there's a decently-sized group out there that loves those buildings.  They may not frequent this board, but they impress the socks off their grand kids and put together some Ntrak modules that make the audience smile.

That Pennsy plug door boxcar that Bob was asking about looks like an X38K.  See page 80 of MSB PRR color guide volume 1.  I have a photo of one of these in the Altoona yards from 1989.  Thanks.

That would also explain the side sill which matches the X38K.  That's what I get for being too lazy to go to the bookshelf for my Color Guides.
