American Limited Models done?

N scale supply has a notice that ALM has stopped production on all products.  I don't remember hearing this before.

I've been trying to call and e-mail them for the last couple weeks to get my 2d-p5 trucks and never got an answer.

Ahh thx, that's explains everything.

Wish I knew/cared more about passenger cars.  Might be a good turn-key to get into.

That is indeed very sad.  Between the core kits and trucks, I also hope someone takes over the product line.

While indeed sad to hear of the passing of these two gentleman I am now nano seconds away from panic stations....core kits, diaphrams....um..."help"....

I think San Juan Car Company is still in operation, so there's the possibility that the ALM brass tooling could be sold to another company.  Bob Fingerle did the milling of brass for the tooling, and John did the injection molding.  Most of the ALM tooling are simple two-part tools.  The ESM passenger car sides were done this way and injection molded through SJCC.

Walthers is down to 4 items from ALM in all scales combined. In N, it is a black core kit and black trucks. I think I am going to have to raid what stock we have left hanging on the wall at the store.

Can anyone in the know can provide information if someone is taking over American Limited to resume production?  Hell Gate Models relies on ALM for supply of the PRR 2D-P5 trucks for the B60b baggage and the heavyweight diaphragms for the BM7ok RPO.

Doug: N Scale Supply's website seems to indicate that there is a new owner but says they do not know if or when production would be resumed..... not good news at all....................

Thankfully I've got at least a dozen core kits and the PRR trucks stashed in a drawer from when I was really into doing cars.  Hopefully a new company will take over and continued this line.

San Juan was sold, to two guys you'd all recognize... but I don't know how public the information is since I don't think the one has left his current company yet. 

I don't know what that means exactly for the AL tooling however.  It's probably for sale.

According to my LHS owner, as of 1700 hrs est Walthers is now out of all ALM products......
