Cool.

I have a bunch of BLMA reefers that I haven't even opened yet.  I am thinking that I might wait until these are on shelves and compare before I decide which brand I want to keep.  I really like the added detail Exactrail appears to be adding to their model.

Talk is cheap, untill they start producing they are just like Walthers to me.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

That looks like an MT coupler, I wonder if the design helps reduce the slinky effect.  I also wonder if/how the Full Throttle coupler might fit into that.

The wire grabirons and cut levers look pretty awesome too.

From the photo, it appears they've reversed the orientation of the internal spring, which will reduce the slinky effect when pulling trains, but increase it when pushing cars.

Interesting.

May or may not be an improvement operationally. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

If they are an improvement, it would only be useful if they offered them separately.

Sure hope it's nicer than the new box that Walthers introduced for the Northeastern Caboose last year.

That's how the MT couplers are to begin with...

"Then watch what ExactRail can do for N-scale."

I sure hope that this becomes reality... I'd love to see the Magor 4750, Evans 4780, the Waffle, and the combo door in N.

Um, no, the standard configuration of an MT coupler is such that the spring is on the other side of the fulcrum, away from the coupler knuckle. MT has been known to tinker with their own design, and there are variations, but that is not the standard configuration. This is:

I been sending ExactRail a e-mail a month and they kept telling me they are retooling their  N Scale..

If  this is a clue of what they have in mind for  N then maybe we will see those cars you mention.

As far as the waffle I got the regular form letter thanking me for interest in their  N Scale products yada, yada, yada. :|

The #1015, #1016 and #2004 have the coupler spring in front of the pivot post.  These three couplers are generally the ones used in OEM products, as opposed to the original #1023 coupler.  BLMA, ESM, FVM, IMRC, TWX, WOT and now EXR are using the #1015 or #1016 components in their integrated coupler boxes, and the Bluford coal hoppers are designed to substitute in the #1015 knuckles.  The #1015 also is the coupler being used on the newer body-mounted MTL models (hoppers and heavyweights), and the #2004 is what is used on the MTL cabooses.
