MILW 50' Ribbed Boxcar announced (FVM)

The midwestern modelers are getting their wish.  FVM minutes ago announced a Milwaukee 50' boxcar with horizontal ribs in multiple configurations.  More details at Trainfest this weekend.

They meant it when they called themselves the America's Resourceful Road. This one gave me quite a chuckle... inventive use for a boxcar (40' DD, guess the 50' were too useful as chipracks).

Lets hope that these, along with ESM's offerings, will lead the way for other more specific prototypical cars to be produced.  There have been other examples in the past that have done well, but these were typically of larger (size and appeal) Class Ones.

 I know that I will have to have a ESM BAR reefer in r/w/b because, for some reason, back in IIRC the 50s one car was noted as being on a train (in a conductor's consist book) on a branchline in western N.C. at Canton, N.C., so, who knows, maybe others during off-season periods, also traveled to near my neck of the woods.  MILW ribbed cars also show up in photos (even into the deep south... Georgia) so both will be (eventually) a part of my freight car roster.

I like it!  The midwest is as misrepresented as the east.  Now if TLT would bite the bullet on a quality N model based on one of their quality HO Canadian models, all regions of the continent will be covered.

I'm one of those unabashed Eastern lovers but never really considered Mileaukee, C&NW, Soo, or CGW as Western.  Milwaukee had a lot in common with PRR as they also did a lot of building of their own passenger, freight cars and cabooses to their own designs plus they had electric operations.
