Need help with shell replacement for MP15dc

Ooops!  Sorry, I didn't change the category I was in before I posted.  Anyway, I'll try this again.

I finally got around to install the chips in my MP's and now I'm having a dickens of a time trying to to get the shell back on and get things lined up with the light cowling and the plastic light bar for the cab lights and number boards.

The cowling always seems to shift to one side or the other and keeps the shell from snapping down completely.
Was just wondering if anyone knows of a good trick to keep the cowling from shifting.  I thought about lightly gluing the cowling to the chassis, but not sure about this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also found this while snooping on the net for answers, thought it a clever trick to remove shells and would pass it along.  Maybe some of you have seen this already.

Yikes! Pretty sure I'm not going to use that shell removal technique for fear of damaging something.

Actually Russ, it works pretty slick.

One thing that the guy mentioned was if the shell is pretty tight, once you get it off the first time you could file the nubs down just a bit and which helps it release a bit easier.
I suppose if you had a bunch of detail parts on the loco, it might mess with them though.

Looks pretty simple and will save me lots of time as I am installing decoders on my Conrail fleet!
